A few words
About Us
Our family has handed down the art of good wine by carrying on ancient traditions without forgetting the importance of innovation.
Our company
It is thanks to dedication, high technical knowledge and care for the production procedures that we give life to our wines.
Exclusively the work of skilled hands and the natural passage of time can transform the best Sangiovese grapes, selected in the vineyard and collected by hand, in genuine wines with the authentic flavor of the Tuscan lands.
For this reason, the entire production process, from the transformation and maturation of the wine to its bottling, takes place exclusively within the company, with a hand close to the past and an eye open to the future.
Who we are
"We pass on the authentic taste of the Tuscan land".
First of all we are a family, this is the main strength of our company. The most important ingredient of our products is undoubtedly the love we share for what we do, the same love that binds us as a team, as well as members of the same core.
The maintenance of ancient traditions still makes our wine an authentic product of the earth, but that keeps its gaze turned to the future thanks to the use of new technologies, which can constantly improve the quality and its impact on the surrounding environment.

History
Where it all began
In the picturesque Sienese village of Quercegrossa, tradition tells us, the famous 14th-century sculptor Jacopo di Pietro D’Agnolo, known as Picchiapietre, was born.
It was in this same village, on a farm called Casagrande, that, six centuries later, Pietro, also known as Pitrino, a man of Sicilian origin who moved to Tuscany in the 1960s, founded the company.
The artistic dedication
The winery’s logo pays homage to the distinctive symbol of Jacopo della Quercia, known as Picchiapietre: an oak branch. This tribute is reflected not only in the trademark, but also in the winery’s recent name, now renamed Casagrande della Quercia.
This name change, in addition to evoking the ancient signature of the famous Sienese sculptor, serves to keep alive the company’s historical and cultural connection to its roots.
The birth of the brand
Fascinated by the sculptor’s stories and the legend linking him to Quercegrossa, Pietro started the company, drawing inspiration from these narratives for his trademark, which evokes a distinctive element of Jacopo della Quercia‘s works, visible, for example, in the marble tiles of the Fontegaia in Siena’s Piazza del Campo.
The tradition continues
The passion for winemaking has been passed down with love and care through three generations. Pietro has instilled respect for the ancient art of winemaking in his daughter Lucrezia, son-in-law Andrea, and their children Chiara, Francesca and Marco, thus ensuring the continuity of this noble tradition.
