The name Quercus recalls the oak tree, a symbol of strength and longevity, which also represents the bond between wine and the land that produces it, that of the Casagrande della Quercia winery, where tradition and nature coexist in perfect harmony. A centuries-old oak tree, a majestic and imposing presence, dominates the area surrounding some of our vineyards.

Quercus Chianti Classico DOCG originates from historic and particularly suitable hills in the Castellina in Chianti area, at 250–280 meters above sea level. Here, the ancient terroir gives the wine its characteristic depth and harmonious structure.
Made primarily from Sangiovese grapes, hand-picked in our vineyards and carefully vinified, Quercus embodies the essence of Tuscan tradition, interpreted with a contemporary style.
Aging in oak barrels enhances its aromatic complexity, blending elegant notes of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, and light woody notes. On the palate, it is balanced, persistent, and enveloping, with fine tannins and a finish reminiscent of cherry, violet, and undergrowth.
An ideal wine for those seeking authenticity, balance, and character in a glass designed for gourmet cuisine.
The label is designed by contemporary artist Alessandro Grazi and originates from a horse head sketch taken from his “Drappellone”, the painted banner awarded to the winning contrada of the Palio di Siena in July 2007. A symbolic tribute to Sienese tradition and heritage, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens and now an iconic hallmark of our winery.
